Component Engineer3/8/10

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or physics, or other appropriate education/experience.
  • Computer proficiency (i.e., MS Excel and statistical features).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment as part of a team.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in this country for any employer.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the Approved Parts List (APL) and Approved Vendors List (AVL).
    • - Select alternate sources of supply.
    • - Approve all changes, additions, deletions.
  • Member of Material Review Board (MRB) and Change Implementation Board.
  • Assign inventory part numbers and construct standardized descriptions for all new parts.
  • Review all requests for new components to assure that a current part can satisfy the requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a specification system for off-the-shelf parts.
  • Generate specifications for all new custom component parts.
  • Coordinate failure analysis and corrective activities on components.
  • Maintain the APL and assign new inventory part numbers.
    • - Establish standard titles for components.
    • - Maintain current descriptions to the standard format.
    • - Flag obsolete parts.
    • - Consolidate duplicate parts and reduce inventory.
  • Assist design engineers in the selection of parts that best fit their requirements.
  • Value engineering (cost reduction).
  • Participate in design reviews for the purpose of component selection and standardization.
  • Authorize ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) written against component and specifications.
  • Perform the reliability prediction (e.g. MTBF) of the board level and request the reliability information of component from manufacturers, if required.
  • Work with factory on E & O (Excess and Obsolete) component inventories.
  • Cost analysis for components used and selected for new programs.
  • In charge of component End of Life (EOL), availability, lead-time and pricing.

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, or other appropriate education/experience.
  • Previous experience in testing oscillator products.
  • Working knowledge of ATE such as Network/Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Knowledge of ATE programming using HP Basic or DOS-based Basic.
  • Thorough understanding of test system automation.
  • Solid background in statistical analysis and SPC of test data necessary.
  • HF text fixture design experience.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task, work well in an energized atmosphere, and a team player.
  • Computer proficiency (i.e., MS Excel and statistical features).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in this country for any employer.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical support of Oscillator Manufacturing group.
  • Development of manufacturing test specifications; devising and implementing test strategy, procedures, documentation; and automation of test process.
  • Collaboration with R & D group on testing issues to insure timely transition of new products from design to manufacture.
  • Additional creative functions include writing data sheets, application notes, articles and other technical documents.
