Qualifications Required:

Q-Tech is searching for an electronic component engineer to work as part of a team involved in the development of a crystal oscillators and high performance frequency control products (FCP). This role participates in selection, review, and fitness-for-use assessment of components to be used in spacecraft payloads and other high reliability applications and/or other hazardous environments. The responsibilities for this position will include the following:

  • Maintain the Approved Parts and Vendor Lists.
  • Select sources of supply.
  • Generate SCD’s and SCD templates for all parts
    • -  Approve all changes, additions, deletions.
  • Review all requests for new components to assure that a current part can satisfy the requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a specification system for off-the-shelf parts.
  • Generate specifications for all new custom component parts
  • Recommend up screening, or alternate parts if required, to qualify a device to a more rigorous environment than the original device specification.
  • Coordinate failure analysis and corrective activities on component parts
  • Assist design engineers in the selection of parts that best fit their requirements.
  • Conduct design reviews for the purpose of component selection and standardization.
  • Perform reliability predictions (e.g... MTBF).
  • When necessary, manage programs for testing new and alternate sources of components to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare handling and process instructions for incoming, in process and final inspection.
  • Manage a factory wide system to monitor
    • - Obsolete and End of Life component issues
    • - GIDEP alerts and advisories

Responsibilities will include:

  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • BS/BE in related field
  • Working knowledge of standards applicable to monolithic microcircuits, hybrid microcircuits,  actives, passives, and magnetics will be key to selection of qualified candidate
  • Computer proficiency (i.e., MS Excel and statistical features).
  • Experience in military/space component standards is a definite plus.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, or other appropriate education/experience.
  • Previous experience in testing oscillator products.
  • Working knowledge of ATE such as Network/Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Knowledge of ATE programming using HP Basic or DOS-based Basic.
  • Thorough understanding of test system automation.
  • Solid background in statistical analysis and SPC of test data necessary.
  • HF text fixture design experience.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task, work well in an energized atmosphere, and a team player.
  • Computer proficiency (i.e., MS Excel and statistical features).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Department of State to allow work on export-restricted products.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical support of Oscillator Manufacturing group.
  • Development of manufacturing test specifications; devising and implementing test strategy, procedures, documentation; and automation of test process.
  • Collaboration with R & D group on testing issues to insure timely transition of new products from design to manufacture.
  • Additional creative functions include writing data sheets, application notes, articles and other technical documents.
